In Arnhem, COARE Architecture and COARE Realisation collaborated on a project for a dental practice, Tandartspraktijk Kapper. In addition to a number of stringent municipal requirements, the municipality also wanted the building to serve as a landmark for the surrounding community. At the same time, the client did not have an unlimited budget and the schedule of requirements was comprehensive, given the nature of the building. Within this restrictive framework, COARE
Architecture succeeded in creating a design that met all requirements and all stakeholders were excited about.
The building is industrial in style. The finishing materials are basic and robust, both inside and out. For example, corten steel was also used to partially cover the façade. Inside, exposed piping and ductwork contribute to the industrial look and feel. The layout and flow of the spaces are designed to increase efficiency. As a result, people love working here and, thanks to smart logistical choices, the output of staff has been greatly enhanced. The municipality got its prominent landmark and the visibility and appearance of the building has even increased patient flow.
